Front-end developer & designer

Bidx seeks a hands-on front-end developer & designer. Someone who has an interest in digital engagement technology and wants to work in an environment that is open, non-hierarchical and multi-cultural. You will be working closely with all members in the development team.

Your tasks:

 

  • Create user interfaces
  • Create visuals (graphics, landing pages)
  • Perform usability tests on interface design to insure cross-browser and cross platform compatibility;
  • Work closely with development and customer relations team to create new features to improve the user experience;

 

Skills:

 

  • Knowledge and experience required:
    • Advanced JavaScript and related frameworks ( jQuery, Backbone, React or Angular)
    • PHP/OOP
    • WordPress CMS ( Themes Customization, Plugins Development, Multisites and Multilanguage )
    • GIT, collaboration and release management, working with multiple branches.
    • Photoshop or equivalent
    • Opinionated on UI and UX design and esthetics
    • Ability to write maintainable code
    • Ability to create quick prototypes
    • Knowledge of responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Materialize)
    • Understanding AJAX, JSON and CSS extension languages (SASS or Less)
    • Experience with Node.js or Ruby on Rails is a plus
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn, open and a team player;
  • Good communication skills, in english, verbal and in writing;
  • Ability to work under time pressure, while maintaining high quality work.
  • Experience with Community Platforms is a bonus

Bidx has 10 members of staff in Amsterdam, 2 members in Kenya and a software team of 4 in Tunisia.

Offer

For this position you will be stationed at the bidx office in Amsterdam. You are not required to travel.
